Echinopsis terscheckii, also known as Trichocereus terscheckii, cardon grande cactus or Argentine saguaro, is a large columnar cactus that is native to South America. It’s common in Northern Argentina, to the dry slopes of the Andes in Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador. It is a wide growing species with branches around 10 inches in diameter. Mature plants can grow over 25ft high. E. terscheckii typically has 8 to 14 ribs and green to light green flesh with yellow to white spines. The night blooming flowers are white and can grow 6 to 8 inches in diameter. This cactus is iconic within the native regions and has some history of use in local traditional medicine, though most commonly the cactus is grown as an ornamental. USDA hardiness zones 8-11 echinopsis terscheckii mescalina.
Echinopsis terscheckii seeds should be spread across the surface of a sterilized cactus substrate mix. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of substrate mix and mist the surface to settle down the soil and seeds. Cover with a humidity bag, dome, or plastic wrap. Keep in a warm place with partial shade. Seeds will germinate best with high temp in the day and low temp at night. Seeds should germinate within 7-20 days. Mist or bottom water when the soil is almost dry. Even with optimal conditions, some seeds may have slow and sporadic germination. Place established plants in full sun to partial shade. Too much shade will make cactus and succulents etiolate during growth Buy echinopsis terscheckii for sale.

Terscheckii is growing very slow to cobular and get fat.
Growth rate depends on climate, growing period length and so on but I found some site from gardon grande cactus where was pictures and years below it.
So in habitat they grow “hidden” as cobular 10-15 years, at age of 20-30 years they are 1-2 foot columnar cactus and +50 years they should reach several feet length echinopsis terscheckii for sale .
I have not seen myself a big terscheckii, but they slower as small and speed up growth.
I remember I read when I “study” this plant an google it and I found information said at +1 foot height column in habitat starts to speed up a growth rate and if growing season is good for old big cactus, I think approx one foot growth in year can be possible when cactus is big and old enough.
